Tving (CEO Choi Joo-hee), Korea's leading streaming service platform, is strengthening its role as a global K-content hub.
Tving announced it has secured a lineup of new TV dramas debuting this year and will release them exclusively through the Tving brand zones on Disney+ Japan and HBO Max across 17 Asia-Pacific countries and regions.
TVING is a leading South Korean streaming service offering original series, TV shows, films, live channels and sports from CJ ENM, JTBC and other partners. It operates a hybrid business model with both subscription and ad-supported tiers, with the ad-supported tier reaching about 39.2% of subscriptions by 2025. TVING is also expanding globally through content licensing and hubs on international platforms, including a dedicated TVING hub on HBO Max in parts of Asia launched in early 2026.
The Tving brand zones serve as dedicated spaces showcasing Tving-curated K-content to global streaming service subscribers overseas.
This marks the first time Tving has simultaneously launched content from external broadcasters—rather than Tving Originals—on a global scale.
Leading examples include MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Judge Lee Han-young (produced by OH Story and Slingshot Studio, The Judge Returns), which premiered on January 2, and JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama An Efficient Meeting of Single Men and Women (produced by SLL, The Practical Guide to Love), set to debut on February 28.
These titles are available to Tving subscribers in Korea while also being featured as key titles in the 'Tving Collection' on Disney+ Japan and the Tving brand zones on HBO Max across 17 Asia-Pacific countries and regions.
Global audience response has been promising.
According to FlixPatrol, a global ranking aggregation site, MBC's Judge Lee Han-young ranked the first in viewership on Disney+) Japan during its premiere week and continues to maintain strong rankings in the Japanese market.
Tving plans to further strengthen its role as a hub that brings well-made content from Korea's top production companies to global streaming platforms.
Domestic production companies gain access to a fast and reliable global distribution channel through the Tving brand zones, while global streaming platforms can expect enhanced content competitiveness and subscriber acquisition through Tving's carefully curated K-content library.
A Tving spokesperson stated, "Tving is strengthening its role as a hub that brings not only original content but also competitive dramas from domestic production companies and broadcasters to global audiences. We will continue to pursue the distribution and expansion of K-content based on our global partnerships."
Meanwhile, Tving has been advancing into overseas markets through a brand zone expansion strategy built on global partnerships since last year.
Since November 4, Disney+ Japan has been offering K-content provided by Tving through the 'Tving Collection' and 'Recommended Korean Dramas' sections.
HBO Max officially launched Tving brand zones across 17 Asia-Pacific countries and regions on January 2, presenting global audiences with a diverse lineup including exclusive content from CJ ENM and Tving, as well as Tving Originals.
On November 18, TVING announced its new partnership with Disney+ to introduce “3 PACK,” a subscription bundle that gives users access to TVING, Disney+ and Wavve with a single sign-up.
As Korea’s first-ever three-platform streaming bundle, 3 PACK is set to drive a paradigm shift in the domestic streaming landscape.
The launch of 3 PACK is part of a strategic partnership with Disney Korea and marks a rare integration between a global streaming service and local platforms. It is being hailed as a groundbreaking initiative that enables users to enjoy content from all three services at once. Through this offering, TVING aims to provide significantly greater value for Korean viewers, support the shared growth of the local streaming market and set new standards for user experience.
