Three FAST Platform Chiefs Named in Hollywood's 100 Most Powerful Women... "Free Streaming Is the Future"
Warner Bros. Film Group's Pamela Abdy Tops the List Tubi, Pluto TV, AMC Executives All Make the Cut Korean Figures Including Miky Lee, Jenny Han, Maggie Kang Also Selected
Korea's No. 1 FAST Platform NEW ID Also Led by Jun Park
The HollywoodReporter's "100 Most Powerful Women in Entertainment 2025" list features three executives from free ad-supported streaming (FAST) platforms.
As subscription-based services like Netflix and Disney+ hit growth ceilings, the ad-supported free model is emerging as a key pillar of next-generation streaming.

No. 1: Pamela Abdy
Topping this year's list is Pamela Abdy, Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group. Under her leadership, Warner Bros. has generated over $4 billion in global box office sales this year, leading all studios. Original films like "Weapons" ($268 million) and "Sinners" ($367 million), along with the IP-based "A Minecraft Movie" ($957 million), drove the studio's success.

FAST Market's Explosive Growth
FAST refers to streaming services that offer free content in exchange for watching advertisements. According to research firm Omdia, the global FAST market is projected to more than double from $8 billion in 2023 to $18 billion by 2028. In the United States, FAST already accounts for approximately 15% of total streaming viewership.
As economic uncertainty and subscription price hikes fuel "streaming fatigue," viewers seeking cost-free content are flocking to FAST platforms. Major media companies are also actively expanding their FAST channel offerings.

Tubi CEO Anjali Sud
Anjali Sud, CEO of Tubi, America's leading FAST platform, made the list. According to parent company Fox, Tubi recently achieved profitability, with Q3 revenue growing 27% year-over-year and viewing time increasing 18%. Sud drove these results by combining licensed content with original films.
"In 2026, the next generation of talent will include digital-native creators who are both in front of and behind the camera," Sud predicted.

Paramount's Cindy Holland
Cindy Holland, who designed Netflix's early premium content strategy, now oversees Paramount+ and Pluto TV at Paramount. Pluto TV has surpassed 80 million monthly active users as a leading FAST platform.
"As viewers look for budget-friendly viewing options and more linear customers move online, we will see free ad-supported streaming services like Pluto TV become an increasing part of consumers' streaming habits," Holland said.

AMC Networks' Kristin Dolan
Kristin Dolan, CEO of legacy cable brand AMC Networks, operates more than 20 FAST channels as part of the company's digital transformation. The streaming division—combining specialty services Shudder, Acorn TV, and AMC+—has become the company's largest revenue source.

Three Korean and Korean American Figures Also Selected
The list also includes three Korean and Korean American figures.
Miky Lee, Vice Chair of CJ Group, was recognized for bringing Korean cinema to the global stage. This year, CJ ENM entered a strategic partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery to co-produce Korean dramas for HBO Max.
Korean American author and producer Jenny Han is called entertainment's "book-to-screen Midas touch." Her novels "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" became a hit for Netflix, while Prime Video's "The Summer I Turned Pretty" reached 70 million viewers in 70 days with its final 11 episodes. She recently announced a film continuation of the series.
Maggie Kang, director of Netflix's all-time most-viewed animated film "KPop Demon Hunters" (325 million views), also made the list. Discussions for a sequel are reportedly underway.

The Korean fast industry market is also growing rapidly.
According to global media analysis firm Omdia, South Korea is expected to grow into one of the top 12 markets worldwide by FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) advertising revenue by 2030.

Omdia indicates that while leading markets like the UK, Brazil, Australia, Canada, Japan, and France will dominate FAST advertising revenue in 2030, South Korea is projected to achieve significant revenue within the mid-tier group alongside Italy and Sweden.
Korea's No. 1 FAST Platform Also Led by Female CEO
Notably, Korea's leading FAST platform NEW ID is also headed by a female CEO. Jun Park (박준경) leads NEW ID. New ID is a Korea-based media tech company that operates global K-content channels on FAST platforms worldwide.
The company connects Asian content with major global platforms through technology, extending the lifecycle and reach of K-content while specializing in FAST services, including real-time streaming, channel operation, and advertising technology.
New ID partners with leading connected TV and FAST platforms such as Samsung TV Plus and LG Channels to distribute K-content channels across North America and other key regions, and differentiates itself by combining FAST with AI-based automation, AI dubbing, data-driven ad solutions, and commerce-linked, shoppable advertising experiences for global audiences
