Amazon's Prime Video has unveiled an innovative feature that uses artificial intelligence to automatically create high-quality video summaries of previous TV series seasons. Evolution from Text to Video Summaries
Amazon announced the launch of "Video Recaps" in beta on Wednesday, November 19. The feature provides "comprehensive season recaps" for select shows using "theatrical-quality video" synchronized with AI-generated voice narration, dialogue snippets, and music to bring viewers up to speed before they dive into new seasons.
Prime Video already released X-Ray Recaps one year ago in 2024, an AI-powered feature that creates "spoiler-free" text summaries of key cliffhangers, character-driven plot points, and other important details. X-Ray Recaps only summarizes content up to the point where a viewer last watched a series, designed to prevent learning spoiler plot points.
