403 companies from 17 countries across 181 booths, the largest edition to date — with a new K-format showcase co-produced with Fox Entertainment
BCWW 2026 (국제방송영상마켓), Korea’s international broadcasting and content market, runs September 14 to 16 at COEX Seoul. 403 companies from 17 countries will take 181 booths, the largest turnout in the event’s 26 editions. This year’s theme is “Illuminate Every Possibility” (모든 가능성을 밝히다). The market is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (문화체육관광부) and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA, 한국콘텐츠진흥원).
International participants include NHK and Fuji TV of Japan, iQIYI and Tencent Video of China, and Fox Entertainment of the United States. Korean participants include KBS Media (KBS미디어), MBC, Studio S (스튜디오S), CJ ENM and HYBE.
A K-format showcase co-produced with Fox Entertainment is new to this year’s business program, alongside new-content briefings and a Korea–Japan co-production workshop.

Eleven conference sessions run across three days in Room 401
The conference comprises eight general sessions and three special sessions in Conference Room (South) 401. Speakers include operating executives from Warner Bros. Discovery, ITV, Canal+, JCOM, TBS, NBCUniversal, Roblox, Tubi, Viu, Rakuten Viki and Avex Pictures.

Distribution executives anchor the legacy media sessions
On September 14, Session 1, “Rediscovering Legacy: New Order in the Media Industry,” features Tomomi Nagayama (TBS, Technology Evangelist), Séverine Garusso (Canal+ Distribution, SVP) and Mansha Daswani (ScreenMDM, Founder). Youngshin Cho (Media Enter Research Institute C&X, CEO) moderates.
Session 2, “Different Starting Points, Same Destination,” brings James Gibbons (Warner Bros. Discovery, President Asia Pacific), Kazushige Sasajima (JCOM, Executive Officer and GM, Media Business) and Dhivya T (Media Partners Asia, Lead Analyst), moderated by Louis Boswell (Asia Video Industry Association, CEO). Special Session 2, “Format Remix,” features Ella Umansky (ITV, VP Format Acquisitions), Adam Steinman (Blink49 Studios, EVP) and Ceren Ergenekon (HECE Medya, Managing Partner), with a presentation by Trang Nguyen (K7 Media).
Short-form program includes a live generative-AI production demonstration
On September 15, Session 4, “Infinite Scalability,” features Geunuk Jeong (KT Studio Genie, CEO), Marianne Lee (Viu, Chief Content Officer) and Vera Liu (Crazy Maple Studio / ReelShort, UA Director). A second part brings actor Sangyeop Lee (이상엽) and directors Byunghun Lee (이병헌) and Kihwan Oh (오기환). Session 5, “Prompt Industry,” presents a live demonstration of a generative-AI short-form title directed by Changwoo Lee (Studio Hou), demonstrated by the KT Studio Genie AI team, with a presentation by Ellie Li (NetShort).

FAST special session takes up how free streaming monetizes
On September 15 at 1:00 p.m., Special Session 3, “Free Streaming, Premium Revenue: The Business Equation of the FAST Market,” features John Jun (Wurl, Head of APAC Strategic Partnerships), Douglas Montgomery (Global Connects Media, CEO), Seunghoon Jeon (Smart Media Rep, CEO) and Imani Ballard (Tubi, Content Merchandising). Junghoon Han (한정훈), CEO of K-EnterTech Hub (케이엔터테크허브), moderates.
IP sessions and special sessions close with Kim Nam-gil and Rakuten Viki
On September 16, Session 7, “The Future of Global IP,” features Hyungsoo Ahn (The Grim Entertainment, CEO), Dasol Lim (Modaive, CEO) and Linfield Ng (NBCUniversal, VP Formats Sales and Production). Session 8, “Artist Odyssey,” brings Nobuhiro Maeno (Avex Pictures, Head of Film Production), Jay Kim (Studio Reallive, CEO) and Kyewon Suh (HIVE Media Studio, President).
Special Session 1 on September 14, “Beyond the Cut,” features actor Kim Nam-gil (김남길), hosted by broadcaster Park Kyeong-rim (박경림). Session 6 on September 15 covers Dive with Me (〈너에게 다이브〉), a collaboration between Rakuten Viki and Dexter Pictures, with actors Jiyeon Kim, Seoham Park, Sehyuk Jang and Seung You Moon, director Jaehyun So, Jaehee Hong (Rakuten Viki, CCO and Korea Representative) and Donghyun Kim (Dexter Pictures, CEO).
Kim Jae-hyun (김재현), Director General of the Cultural Media Industry Office at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the event has “significantly expanded its programs and international cooperation opportunities to reflect the latest industry trends.”
