CES 2027 Opens Jan. 6, but Entertainment Starts a Day Early

CES 2027 opens Jan. 6 in Las Vegas, but entertainment starts a day early with 11 Digital Hollywood sessions at ARIA on Jan. 5. C Space, Lenovo’s Sphere keynote and microdrama and creator sessions fill the week. Here is what Korean broadcasters, studios and K-pop companies should watch.

CES 2027 Opens Jan. 6, but Entertainment Starts a Day Early

CES 2027 runs Jan. 6–9, 2027, in Las Vegas. The entertainment program starts a day earlier. Digital Hollywood holds 11 sessions on Hollywood, streaming and AI at ARIA on Jan. 5, the eve of the show.

Last year’s show explains why content companies now have more to plan for. CES 2026 featured more than 25 entertainment panels and events, where Hollywood and the creator industry debated AI production, copyright and the role of creators, the Associated Press reported on Jan. 7.

The organizer’s message has moved toward results. Brian Comiskey, vice president of innovation and trends at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), said at a briefing in Seoul on Oct. 13 that CES 2027 shifts its focus from AI adoption to profit, the Seoul Economic Daily reported.

Digital Hollywood on Jan. 5: 11 sessions with Adobe, AWS, WBD and Fremantle

Digital Hollywood, a CES Conference Partner program, runs from 9 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. on Jan. 5 in Joshua 8 and 9 on ARIA’s East Level 1. Executives from Adobe, AWS and WPP open with a leadership roundtable. Sessions follow on cinematic AI, partnerships among brands, networks, agencies and tech, the creator economy, Hollywood IP and microdramas.

Fremantle moderates the microdrama session, with actors’ union SAG-AFTRA taking part; production costs, distribution and performer terms for vertical serials are at issue. In the IP session, Skybound, producer of The Walking Dead, and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) discuss extending IP across screens and formats. A 2 p.m. session asks whether quality and trust become the edge as low-quality AI content floods platforms.

C Space: the deal room for advertising and content, centered on ARIA

CTA runs C Space as the gathering point for the advertising, entertainment and content communities. The C Space Campus spans ARIA, Vdara, the Cosmopolitan, Park MGM and Bellagio. ARIA hosts partnership meetings among brands, advertisers and media platforms rather than exhibit booths. It is open Jan. 6–8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with badge pickup at the Mariposa Foyer on ARIA East Level 2.

Lenovo keynote at Sphere on Jan. 6: venues become launch stages

Lenovo chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang gives a keynote at Sphere at 5 p.m. on opening day, Jan. 6, using the venue’s immersive visuals and sound, CTA announced on Oct. 7. Sphere opened in Las Vegas in September 2023. As venues and experience spaces become stages for technology launches, CES also becomes a place for immersive-content companies to find live-entertainment partners.

Microdramas, IP and AI quality: sessions for Korean companies

For Korean studios entering the U.S. with short-form dramas, the 3 p.m. microdrama session on Jan. 5 shows local production costs and union rules. Webtoon and web-novel IP holders should look at the 1 p.m. Hollywood IP session, and AI video studios at the 10 a.m. cinematic AI session.

Korean broadcasters and channels can learn from the 10 a.m. session on brand, network, agency and tech partnerships and the 4 p.m. session on streaming, creators and podcasts. Amazon, WBD and Digitas cover U.S. joint selling and branded-content deals, while Paramount, PBS and IMDb discuss a media market being reshaped by streaming, creators and podcasts. For Korean broadcasters looking to extend ad sales beyond scheduled programming into creator and branded content, these sessions show how U.S. networks split deals with advertisers and agencies.

Outlook: sessions and meetings, not booths, shape the plan

The CES 2027 entertainment program starts with Digital Hollywood on Jan. 5 and continues through C Space meetings and the Sphere keynote on Jan. 6. Because deals and partnerships happen in sessions and meetings rather than at booths, choosing which sessions to attend and whom to meet is at the center of a content company’s preparation.

K-EnterTech Hub and smartcms run the CES 2027 Entertainment Tech Insight Tour, the only CES tour built around entertainment tech, along this schedule. A free preview of our session analysis, covering the 11 Digital Hollywood sessions, is available in the shop.
