On November 17, 2024, President-elect Trump nominated Brendan Carr to serve as Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Carr currently serves as the top Republican on the commission and also served as a commissioner in Trump's first term in 2017. The 45-year-old also authored the FCC chapter of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025.
